Dr. Jagotamoy Das is currently a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Toronto, Canada. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Dr. Das obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Pusan National University, South Korea in 2009 with Korean Research Foundation (KRF) fellowship. Just after his PhD, he moved to the Kelley Laboratory at the University of Toronto for his postdoctoral study with MITACS fellowship. His research area includes Biosensors, Materials, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, and Nanotechnology. His research work has focused on the development of ultrasensitive electrochemical detectors for biomolecular analytes for medical diagnostics using nanomaterials and he currently works on non-invasive analysis of cancer, development of wearable bioelectronics for continuous monitoring of diseases, and development of simple and fast detector of COVID-19. He has published his research work in several high impact journals, including Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, ACS Nano, Nano Letters, ACS Sensors, Analytical Chemistry, and Chemical Communications. Moreover, he is an inventor of 8 patents (issued and in process). Dr. Das is an associate editor of the journal ‘Nanomedicine & Nanotechnology Open Access’, Editorial board member of the section “Biosensors” of the journal “Chemosensors”, and an advisor of Bangladesh Nano Society. He is also a reviewer of many international journals.
